Hello...Is It Me You're Looking For?
I haven't kept up this blog in a while (years actually). Mostly because of life--kids, a job, a husband and all of other life's demands (excuses, I know).
Really it's just been myself being me. Thinking..."my life isn't 'blog worthy'"or "no one really wants to hear what I have to say" (otherwise I would be much more famous than I am).
But, when I came up with the title of my blog, it really was meant to inspire not only others, but myself as well to remember that life isn't always about the "BIG" events. Not always about the "BIG" problems. Not always about the "BIG" news of the day.
Adventure is defined as: an unusual and exciting, typically hazardous, experience or activity.
I most certainly would not say my everyday life is an adventure according to that definition (although there are moments that can be described as such, i.e. my husband cutting his finger while remodeling a bathroom the day before a vacation, my son having an allergic reaction to a food he's just eaten).
Life's adventures really does come from LIVING in the day-to-day. Embracing the "mundane" things as not just "normal" things that happen, but the "normal" things that I get to experience in the reality of everyday life and how I view them:
I get to wake up (to a new day)
I get to spend time with my kids (from snuggling or tampering tantrums)
I get to enjoy a cup coffee (my husband made for me)
I get to clean up messes (in a good home)
I get to do laundry (for all the clothes I have)
I get to run errands (with the van I have)
I get to sing (praise songs to God)
I get to eat (basically anytime I am hungry)
I get to sleep (in a real bed)
May this be a reminder to me (and you) when I feel unimportant or unglamourous or lacking in any area: it's not about how "adventure" is defined, but how I define "adventure" in my life.
