Life in curlers

Today was a typical day....
Waking, eating, washing, playing, learning, ELMO!, bouncing, jumping, reading,
napping, resting, curling.....curling?
No, I'm not talking about the sport. I'm talking style, baby!
I find that at times I am bored of my straight, fine hair and, if I have time, will put my hair in curlers. So when my daughter, Elizabeth, woke up and saw my pink helmet of
curlers, belted out one of her gut wrenching laughs and naturally pointed to her own
head and gleefully cried "CUHLAH," I couldn't pass up the chance to make all of her
dreams (at least in that instant) come true.
So while I'm placing these curlers in her hair and she is chattering on about the brush in her hand and squirming about excitedly I said to her "I can't wait until I get to do this when you are older...."
Whaaaaaat??!! Suddenly I realized I was looking into the future instead of dwelling in
the moment.
The Bible reads in James 4:14 "Why, you do not even know what will happen tomorrow. What is your life? You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes."
I think that we all have moments like that where we imagine the future as we think it will be. But I know that am blessed to be able to call Elizabeth my daughter at this point in my life and I remembered that as we were talking about how beautiful she is and how God made her extra special. I decided then to take that moment, and every one after, and enjoy it with her.

This is awesome honey...love you!
