A Day at the Spa
So I had been very sick the past few days but have managed to maintain my sanity and have preserved my sense of humor through it all.
Thursday being "one of those days" where I was more sick and tired and wanted nothing other than to crawl into my bed undisturbed in a Nyquil coma, I was able to conjure up enough energy to at least pretend to be a good mommy. I decided to make sure I would not overreact and keep calm, more because I did not have the motivation to do anything other than that, than for my daughter's sake. We (me more unwillingly than Elizabeth) decided to turn this day into an unexpected "day at the spa."
The following is just an excerpt in the day of beauty and pampering that Elizabeth experienced at Salon de Dunn.
8:00--Awaken completely refreshed and free of all clothing while singing and bouncing in her bed and thereby summoning the attendant (me).
8:15--Diapered and dressed and eating a breakfast of a bowl of magical deliciousness, fresh squeezed OJ (from a can) and French toast sticks (frozen and microwaved).
8:30-10:00--Free play and watching of her "shows" while lounging in her comfy fuzzy Elmo chair (and incidentally watching Elmo).
10:15--A dose of our unpatented Colon Cleansing Crayon (pictured above) which will be sure to detox any system.
10:18--Dental and mouth wash (which is an extra benefit to the Colon Cleansing Crayon).
10:45--Yogurt facial (this also is a refreshing snack but is a wonderful and invigorating facial cream and also good for the hair).
10:50--Relaxing and joyful bath in a toy filled tub. Massaging hair and scalp wash included.
11:00-12:00--Resume free play and catching up on email while attendant cleans up previously made messes.
12:30--Chauffered to a delicious lunch with the man of her dreams!! (her daddy)
1:30-4:00--Long, restful nap at which point the attendant also proceeds to a much needed rest.
Honestly, the rest of the day was a blur, as was the weekend that came after. I thoroughly enjoyed giving my daughter her much needed day at the spa. But after all this, also begs me to wonder if perhaps I could also get a much needed day at the spa?
